El govern actua per accelerar la concessió de llicències al Brasil

By - 20 de gener de 2025

In a move to streamline its operations, the Secretary of Prizes and Bets (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance ha anunciat a temporary collaboration between units of the SPA and the Authorization Sub-Secretariat. The initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of processing authorization requests for the commercial exploitation of online gambling. Effective immediately, public servants from the SPA will work alongside the Authorization Sub-Secretariat to analyze documentation from companies seeking authorization to operate in the sector. The collaboration will continue until all necessary information is reviewed.

The collaboration outlined in Article 2 of the ordinance involves activities focused on analyzing authorization requests and preparing technical opinions to inform decision-making regarding these requests.

The regulation also stipulates that it will be the responsibility of the Undersecretariat of Monitoring and Inspection within the Secretary of Prizes and Betting to evaluate the required technical certificates. However it is the Authorization Sub-Secretariat that will be responsible for preparing the final opinion for authorization approval.

The announcement comes after a Federal Court granted a preliminary injunction in favour of the company Select Operations, allowing it to continue its activities until the conclusion of the authorization process currently underway at the SPA.

Select Operations, which operates the brands In2Bet, Papi Games and MMABet requested authorization on August 20, 2024. However, due to the delay in the process, it was not included in the list of authorized companies published on December 31, 2024.
