By - 13 de maig de 2024

In response to complaints made through social media by online betting users, the president of Coljuegos, Marco Emilio Hincapié, ordered an investigation into websites named by Colombians where inconsistencies with reloads and prize withdrawals are allegedly taking place.

“We have initiated the respective investigations to provide clarity and resolve the situations of each of the citizens who are betting on games of chance and luck. We will ask the operators to explain each of the alleged inconsistencies expressed by the citizens,” Hincapié said.

Among the complaints from bettors received by Coljuegos are situations such as money reloads on some authorized sites that, after several days, are not reflected in the players’ accounts.

Likewise, other citizens have reported alleged security flaws in the platforms on social media, as well as delays in addressing requests, complaints, and claims from some online gaming operators.

Similarly, the entity has received complaints related to non-payment of prizes, portal crashes, and difficulties in withdrawing winnings from bets.

“We invite you to continue using the official communication channels of the entity and to continue reporting complaints. From Coljuegos, we will follow up to protect the interests of bettors and monitor the proper functioning of the operators,” the president stated.

The announcement comes after Coljuegos declared a principis d'aquest mes that the online betting platform 1Win is not authorized to operate in Colombia, as it doesn’t have a licence. There are only 15 authorized online gambling websites in the country. In the first four months of 2024, Coljuegos issued over 700 orders to block illegal betting sites.
